Quantum: A hypothetical atom to be used in a laser has two energy levels, and will absorb light of wavelength 580nm. If a gas of 3.0 x 10^20 of these atoms is "pumped" so that all of the atoms are in the excited state, what is the maximum amount of energy that could be released in a single laser pulse? The answer is 103J, I have no idea where to start with this one
