I'm sorry, I haven't read this book, but I have read and studied another one of his books called 'Of Mice and Men.' I can only suggest to find two problems that happen in Kino's life since he has this pearl and talk about that and add in writing techniques like foreshadowing which Steinbeck likes to use.

I'm not sure how you school works, but I wouldn't hurt to add in some quotes and explain them. It will show your teacher that you have a better understanding of the book.
