2nd year student and would like to find out whether the APA words 'Running Head' are to be included or are those words descriptive in defining how the heading title 'runs' at the top of each page?...It just looks funny to see the words 'Running Head'.

Believe that "Running Head" should be only on the top of the first page only. In order to make this header only apply to the first page, click on your header, then check the box "Different First Page" under options. Then your first page will be different from the rest.
