What is the sum of a 52 term arithmetic sequence where the 1st term is 1 and the last term is 154 ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the general set up for this; which we then fill in for specifics is: \[S=\frac{n(first+last)}{2}\]

OpenStudy (amistre64):

we are told that n = 52; first = 1 and last = 154

OpenStudy (amistre64):

so we simply fill in the parts to get: \[S=\frac{52(1+154)}{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

s= 4030 ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

52(155) ------ = 26(155) .... yep 4030 is what my calculator spits back out :) 2
