write out that tan(t) as sin(t)/cos(t)... cancel out the cos(t).

so sin(t)=sin(t) and what else?
notice that in both problems you posted, you changed everything in terms of sine and cosine. that is a good strategy to start from.
you just proved that the left side is the same as the right side.
