I really need help. (see attachment)

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

ok, you are given:\[f(x)=\cos(x)\]and have been asked to find:\[f'(\frac{\pi}{2})\] so first work out what f'(x) is.

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

f'(x) represents the derivative of f(x) with respect to x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's sin x right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-sinx

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then plug it in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 1. right?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

so now you just need to work out the value of -sin(x) when x=\(\frac{\pi}{2}\)

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

remember its "-sin(x)" not "sin(x)"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yea.....-1

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

perfect! - well done!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks.

OpenStudy (asnaseer):
