A roll of wallpaper is 10 meters long and 0.5 meters wide. Assuming that there is no wastage, how many rolls of wallpaper would Michelle require to cover the two walls? 11 24 12 30
What is the area of the walls please?
Ah, there is an image - hold on a minute....
I am assuming the question refers to the 2 walls we can see from the cuboid. First calculate the area of the 2 walls using base x height, then work out the total area of the wallpaper. Then divide the area of the wallpaper by the area of the 2 walls. If you round this answer up you will get the number you need. Hope this helps. Daniel
so its 30
Area of walls is 30 x 2 = 60, and each roll is 10 x 0.5 = 5 (both are in metres squared).... therefore you need 60/5 which is 12. Try it for yourself.
