The height of a cylinder is three times the diameter of the base. The surface area of the cylinder is 126 ft2. What is the radius of the base?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*126pi^2

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

- the surface area will be lateral area + 2 time area of base (down and up) - diameter equal 2 time radius - the height is 3 time the diameter so what sign that will be 3 time 2r equal 6r - because area of a circle equal pir^2 - and lateral area of a cylinder equal 2pir time the height of cylinder - so after this can you continue please ?
