what happens to the area of a rectangle when the base length is doubled and the height is tripled?

it would be 6X bigger

since are of rectangle is L X W you are doubling the L and tripling the W 2L X 3W... to do a double check i used some numbers: I set L=2 and W=4 normal area would be 8 new area after enlarging sides = 48 48/8 = 6
