Ellipse given by y = a cos(t), x = b sin(t). find the volume of revolution. can get to V = integral of cos^3 (t) dt x a^2 * pi * b, but how do i choose my limits of integration?

OpenStudy (experimentx):

revolution along which axis??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x

OpenStudy (experimentx):

x=b sin(t), the max value of x is +b and the min value of x is -b so you limit of integration is -b to b, if x = b, t = pi/2 and if x=-b, t=-pi/2 there you have your limit of integration!!!
