For PartKohli

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here is how I solved this one.

Parth (parthkohli):

A general formula you should use. \[\Large {x \over y} \div {a \over b} = {x \over y} * {b \over a} \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5 1/4 divided by 1 1/2 = 21/4 x 3/2 = 2/4 x 3/1 = 6/4 = 1 2/4

Parth (parthkohli):

See, you did the wrong thing in the second step. Check it, and compare it with my formula :D

What letters stand for which numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Ok! Thank you SO much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the RIGHT answer is,

Parth (parthkohli):

In this case, x = 21 y = 4 a = 3 b = 2

Parth (parthkohli):

\[\Large {21 \over 4} \div {3 \over 2} = {21 \over 4} * {2 \over 3} \] Now see what was wrong? :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 6/12 is the answer? Or in LOWEST terms, 3 1/2

Parth (parthkohli):

YES! YOU LEARN FAST BRO!
