Bradley and Kelly are out flying kites at a park one afternoon. A model of Bradley and Kelly’s kites are shown below on the coordinate plane as kites BRAD and KELY respectively. Which statement is correct about the two kites?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

POSSIBLE ANSWERS: A) They are similar because line BR:DB is 1:2 and line KE:YK is 1:2. B) They are similar because line BR:DB is 2:1 and KE:YK is 2:1. C) They are not similar because line BR:DB is 1:2 and line KE:YK is 2:1. D) They are not similar because line BR:DB is 2:1 and line KE:YK is 1:2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's D because C says the ratio of KE:YK is 1:2 but KE=sqrt2 and YK=5sqrt2 so the ratio of KE:YK is 1:5 so C is false.
