What are two major characteristics that change when air is heated and cooled?

If you mean air that is in the atmosphere, i.e., not confined in some sort of container (because then we would have different parameters), then when it is heated it will become less dense, which increases its volume and pressure. The opposite is true when it is cooled. And by the way, try posting these in the Physics group :-)
