well prophase of meosis pretty longer than mitosis  it has a lot of step like  diakinesis and many others yet  in an easy way  we can differentiate the two as following   prophase of meosis has homologous chromosomes  nt present in mitosis  prophase of meosis involves crossing over  and chiasmata formation which are also absent in mitosis
