In equations where you have to solve for X, always try to leave the X alone on one side of the equation. So first, I would add 6 on both sides and it becomes --> 84 = (1/2)X +X
And now, I would multiply both sides by 2 to get rid of the "(1/2)". And I get 168 = X +2X.
--> 168 = 3X
(Divide both sides by 3)
--> X= 56 :)
