Can someone show me how to solve this problem by using long division? What is the quotient: (6x^4 – 15x^3 – 2x^2 – 10x – 4) ÷ (3x^2 + 2)
2x^2 -5x -2 _____________________________ 3x^2 +2 | 6x^4 -15x^3-2x^2-10x -4 -(6x^4 +0 +4x^2) ------------------ -15x^3-6x^2 -10x -4 -( -15x^3 + 0 -10x) --------------------- -6x^2 +0x -4 -(-6x^2 +0x -4) -------------- 0 this means there is no remainder quotient = 2x^2-5x-2
were you able to follow my work...remember you have to subtract each line so it involves a lot of sign changes (be careful)
