what's 98.4886 rounded to the nearest tenth?

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

\(\large 98.\color{green}4 \underline 8 86\) If the underlined is 5 or higher, then the green number is increased. If the underlined is 4 or less, then the green number stays the same.

so its 98.50

Yes. :) basically, when you're rounding to the 'nearest', you look at the digit before it. if its 5 or higher, then increase the original digit you're rounding to; otherwise, leave it and remove the rest (or replace with 0's if its to the left of the decimal)
