A bike to do tricks with has 20-inch-diameter wheels. Find the area of each wheel. Round to the nearest tenth.

OpenStudy (chrisplusian):

area of a circle is \[pi \times r ^{2}\]

OpenStudy (chrisplusian):

radius is just half the distance of the diameter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, thanks. For some reason when I followed that formula I kept getting the answers wrong haha but i'll try it again :)

OpenStudy (chrisplusian):

just remember that it isn't the diameter you are dealing with, and dont confuse \[r ^{2}\] with 2times radius. The two times radius comes from the circumference of a circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright :) thank ya.

OpenStudy (chrisplusian):

no problem
