Pictures/Questions are attached. Will give a big reward! Oh and please explain if possible or show steps. Only do #2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 18

OpenStudy (albert0898):

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

if i do one of these would you do the rest?

OpenStudy (albert0898):

I'll just tell you the ones I need help with... #2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 18

OpenStudy (zepp):

The #2 is similar to the one I solve long ago for you, about the 2 kind of nuts.

OpenStudy (albert0898):

Same book xD, it's similar but wayyy different. You solved subchapter 1.3 for me. This is now subchapter 1.4. lol

OpenStudy (zepp):

Try to do it by yourself, post steps here, and we'll try to help you out if the answer's wrong.

OpenStudy (albert0898):

I already tried, and I don't know how to do it.

OpenStudy (zepp):

Tea that sells for $2 a pound is mixed with a different tea that sells for $5 a pound to produce 40 pounds of a custom blended tea that will sell for $4.25 a pound. How many pounds of the less expensive tea should be used in the mixture. Let Cheap Tea be x and Expensive Tea be y Both tea will be mixed, to form 40 pounds, so x+y=40, that will sell for $4.25 a pound. How much this will cost? 40 pounds * $4.25 = $170 Okay, we have x+y=40 Total cost $170 Tea that sells for $2 a pound is mixed with a different tea that sells for $5 a pound to produce 40 pounds -> $2 cheap Tea -> 2x -> 5$ exp. Tea -> 5y It will cost $170 2x + 5y = $170 We have now the system x + y = 40 2x + 5y = 170

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i assume your understanding of section 2.4 is rather poor :/

OpenStudy (albert0898):

Yep.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i have a theory, words and math should never be mixed

OpenStudy (albert0898):

I dislike word problems. Like I'll do great on a test that just goes straight to the point. Word problems, meh, eh...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i was rather bad at them till i found a book at the library titled something like: How to solve word problems.

OpenStudy (albert0898):

What level does it start at? Like Algebra 1 < x ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

it goes thru all the word problems that youa re most likely to find on the tests for like SAT and such ... from these things to percents and just an overall good resource to help focus on how to parse these things

OpenStudy (albert0898):

Ah I see. Thank you for this reference :3

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if john paints a house in 5 hours and jane paints a house in 8 hours, how long does it take for them to paint the house togheter yada yada

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck with these tho, i gotta go

OpenStudy (albert0898):

Goodnight!
