can i get help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

perhaps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay one sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need to evaluate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this \[\sum_{k=3}^{9} 5k-8\]

OpenStudy (chrisplusian):

ok this says that you have to evaluate the sumation from 3 to 9 of the function

OpenStudy (chrisplusian):

so since this is only 6 numbers you can plug three in the function, 4 in the function, 5 in the function, etc. simply add them all together and you have your answer thats why it is called a summation. there are other rules that apply to summations but this one can be approached straight forward

OpenStudy (chrisplusian):

does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the answers are either 100,154,200,266

OpenStudy (chrisplusian):

154
