Part 1: If the initial cost was $23,000, what will the cost of tuition be in twenty five years? Part 2: In complete sentences, explain how an arithmetic sequence was applied.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A tuition scale for a state university shows an increase of $1,500 each year.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1) letting the number of years be X we get 1500X+23000 so 1500X25= 37,500 now add the 23,000 to get $60,500. 2) part1. Can't figure out what the algebraic formula is, sorry.

I gave you a formula, but I'm going to repeat it.

@chad its ok :)

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

in an arithmetic series an=a1+(n-1)d

Okay so for each year the university will add $1,500 given an initial cost of $23,000. So you have to start at i = 23,000 and your n will be 25 years. then you add them up but a trick you can also do here is to multiply 25 by 1,500 and add it to $23,000.
