Stats question! Suppose the probability of receiving a side effect of a drug is known to be .75 and the standard deviation is .9. A drug company is trying to reduce the side effect factor by adding an extra chemical on the drug. It is also believed that the standard deviation of side effect of the new drug remains unchanged. 25 patients were given the new drug and the mean side effect factor is found to be .73. Test the appropriate null hypothesis and also find the Type I error and Type II error. Any guidance greatly appreciated.
