Explain why most foods must be digested?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@heena @Diyadiya

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Food breaks down into smaller particles while digestion so they can be absorbed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

explain?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

while digestion as adding to @diya through digestion large particle breaks in small particle due tri which nutrients and minerals are easily absorbed as in food we intake contain many esential nutrients whic is required for our dail life

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or is it because many of the substances can be assimilated as small molecules

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea it means the same with respect to ur qn

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i agree to the above answers food is broken down so that it could be easily absorbed by the microvili in our intestine also some food like sugar need to be broken down immediately so that they are used up before they can harm your body but food like oils get stored in the adipose (fat) tissues because there presence dosnt harm the body as much as sugar can

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because if you think about how large food is. it's a huge big chain of elements that are stuck together. we have an assembly line that takes the pieces apart until it is able to be reused to energize our own bodies. unless we ingested pure single sugar fat protien and nucleic acid compound we need to digest everything we eat.
