I know that when you type an essay it has to be Time new Roman 12 pt font, but is it okay to use Italics. I really do not like that font I think its ugly the italics look so much better.

Well If you use italics for the whole story i dought u will get a good grade on it. Italics is used for maily titles of books, titles of movies, titles of television series.

Italics would most likely fail you with most teachers. Italics, in writing, are used for titles of proper nouns.

Agreed. Italics are also used to emphasize words. So you probably would get a bad grade, but you could try a font that looks similar to Times New Roman, but better. Good luck
