OpenStudy (anonymous):

If an atom has 3 protons, 3 electrons and 2 neutrons, what is the atom's electrical charge?

OpenStudy (ujjwal):

Do you know what are the charges of electron, proton and neutron?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes but when it comes to the number of each in an atom I get confused.

OpenStudy (ujjwal):

Add all charges.

OpenStudy (asadkarim7):

protons are positively charged , neutrons are neutral and electrons are negatively charged the protons =3 the electrons =3 3+(-3)=0 so no charge the atom has neutral charge

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if u specified an atom its neutal by nature... however if its nuclear charge then its = 3 times charge of a proton.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh so it would be 3 positive minus 3 due to negative charges and neautral has no charge so it's 0. I get it. Thanks guys.
