Find the distance between the two points. Round to the nearest tenth if necessary. (8, 8), (12, 11) (1 point) 7 5 25 28

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Do you know the formula to find distance ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No :(

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

distance between two points A = \((x_1, y_1)\) and B = \((x_2, y_2)\) is given by the formula:\[\large d= \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay, whats the answer?

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Here A=(8, 8), B=(12, 11) can you substitute the values and find the distance ?

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

@Missyxo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok im back

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Ok so i've posted the formula ..can you tell me whats \(x_1,x_2,y_1\& \ y_2\) here ?

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

A = (x1,y1) and B = (x2,y2) here A=(8, 8), B=(12, 11) so what is x1 x2 y1 & y2 ?

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

x1=8 x2=12 y1=8 y2=11

OpenStudy (diyadiya):

Now plug it in the formula \[\large d= \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}\]\[\large d= \sqrt{(12-8)^2+(11-8)^2}\] can you do it now?
