Arithmetic sequences can be represented by a linear equation/function. What is the relationship between Geometric sequences and exponential functions? How are Geometric sequences different than Arithmetic sequences? How are linear functions different than exponential functions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The best way to answer this question is to look at the graph of all of the equations and functions described.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

a geometric sequence has common ratio e.g. 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, .... can be written as \[\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}2^{n-1}\]

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

linear are straight lines and have a constant rate of change
