I don't know what "lateral" area means. Total area seems like the total surface area. You need to find the areas of different "rectangles" and add them up to find the surface area.

Volume is the "area of the top" multiplied by the height of the shape.

right, so would that be 25 mult. 6?

15 multiplied by 6. Remember, area of the bottom rectangle (or top rectangle) is 3*5=15.
