I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, but whenever i log off, then log back on, i end up on a totally different subject than what i left off of.
I remember i logged off, and i was on group Mathematics, then when i log back on, i end up on Chemistry..kinda weird..
hmmmmm never experienced that...
Maybe its my computer, but then again, it only happens on Openstudy..lol.
lol i logged out while in Feedback then logged in Mathematics =))
See, thats whats happening to me. I log out in a group, but when i log back in, im in a totally different group..
it's not "totally different group" it's always mathematics -___-
No, i end up in like Chemistry or Biology, weird...
oh hmm...maybe it's the mod's way of advertising the other groups? hmm
LOL
You're right GOODMAN, that's happened to me too.
Yeah, no matter what subject I logoff at, I end up at Mathematics when I log in
I have also never experienced such a problem. But it might be related with some connectivity loopholes. Infact I am also facing "acute" connectivity problem these days. Check mine and @Austin_Rain post , see if it helps you somewhere.
But yea , what @psujono has written , is very true with my case as well - "no matter what subject I logoff at, I end up at Mathematics when I log in" :-(
@GOODMAN that happens to me all the time, 5 different groups, specifically
@GOODMAN Happens with me too.
All the time sista:)
Yeah. The order you're joined to groups has nothing to do with what group you were in when you logged out. We don't store that information server-side.
That said, we could - it would just get really weird if you had multiple tabs open.
well how is it based then? i mean we dont have an "openstudy homepage" ...so it's random?
Yeah, I think it's whatever order the database spits out the results. Which could change based on how MongoDB organizes the index that we have on that field.
<---- computer engineer should understand thos etechy tems but can't lol =)))))) im such a weird computer engineer
Haha. Well, Computer Engineer != Computer Scientist. :P Lol. Essentially, it's not random - but it will appear that way. There's a method to the madness.
hmm i kinda get it now...it's not random but has an inconsistent pattern which depends on how the indeces are organized by the MongoDB hmm..
Indeed!
Lol, that explains a few things, sometimes I log in and its in some funny group that's in my list, but I haven't viewed it in awhile.
Okay, that explains a lot :D Thanks for the clear up
