idk how to go into it more. I just need to know what it's used 4 or what it does.

simple to hold integrated circuits in the case of the microprocessor and the motherborad connects all the IC together and regulates voltages going to those chips so they can all work togeather to create our machines without burning up and recreating noise interferance to each other.

some IC such as bios even hold a firmware read only program....so does your TV remote
