When you said "the star" - I'm assuming you mean to say the Sun. The distance between the Earth and the Sun is not fixed (it varies between 0.983 289 8912 AU and 1.016 710 3335 AU. Your next question is probably going to be: How far is a AU? 1 AU = is roughly 93,020,000 miles or 149,669,180 km
