These days i seem to notice that there is increased no: of qns posted not related to the group in which it is posted ,like biology in physics etc ...is there any way to decrease this..give ur ideas :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

inform users, report users

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

This is an expected side effect of the one-question-at-a-time feature. Since people can't post their questions over and over again when they are in the same group, they are going to different groups to try and get more exposure. Report instances that you see like this so we can deal with it. We'll keep thinking of creative ways to discourage the behavior. ;)

OpenStudy (jfraser):

would it be possible to add a "move to" button? for admins only, of course.

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

JFraser: We've looked at that option in the past. It may happen.

OpenStudy (jfraser):

It could be tricky coding, mainly if the poster already has an open question in the appropriate destination thread, but a duplicate could just be overw ri tten.

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Well, it's not quite that simple either. It's an efficiency problem as well. We keep track of point grants for the SmartScore. If we move a question, all point grants for that question have to be updated. That's a big operation because of the size of our point grants data. That said, we're still considering it.

OpenStudy (jfraser):

very true. GL on that
