What % of 125 is 72.9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

TO solve this problem, first you need to divde 72.9 by 125. Since you want a percentage, you need to multiply the number you find by 100.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{72.9}{125}100=58.32 \% \]

I realize i did a terrible job of explaing that. Let me try again. You first find a ratio of one to the other. Since you want to find out what the ratio of 72.9 to 125 is, you divide as follows \[72.9/125\] This gives you the ratio of one to another. Its just like saying 2/1 is twice as much as 1. To change it over a percentage, you have to multiply the decimal you get by 100. Just like robtobey did above Hope this wasn't too confusing!

Not confusing at all. Thats what I had.
