how do you do FOIL?

hero (hero):

1. FOIL (3x+2)(2x+5) 2. The continuity of steps are: (3x+2)(2x+5) = 3x(2x+5) + 2(2x+5) = 6x^2 + 15x + 4x + 10 = 6x^2 + 19x + 10 There are several ways to FOIL. FOILing is just an acronym for applying the distributive rule. For example, to FOIL (3x + 2)(2x + 5) you simply distribute the 3x + 2 over the 2x and the 5: (3x+2)(2x+5) = 2x(3x+2) + 5(3x+2) Afterwards you distribute the 2x and 5 over 3x + 2: 2x(3x+2) + 5(3x+2) = 6x^2 + 4x + 15x + 10 Finally add like terms. 4x and 15x are like terms therefore: 6x^2 + 4x + 15x + 10 = 6x^2 + 19x + 10
