HJ=3X+5 AND IK=5X-9 FIND THE VALUE OF X

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first, make HJ equal to IK so it would become: 3X + 5 = 5X -9 then subtract 3X from both sides to cancel the 3X on one side out resulting in: 5 = 2X - 9 then add 9 on both sides to cancel the 9 out so it would become: 14 = 2X then divide two on both sides and you get 7 = X I hope that helped :)
