A rectangle that has a length to width ratio of approximately 1.6 to 1 is said to be a golden rectangle, meaning that it is of perfect proportion. If the length of a golden rectangle is 4 feet, what is the width of the rectangle, in inches?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[length:width =1.6:1\] this says that for every 1.6 units of length we have 1 unit of width so how much width do you have if you have 4 units of length? you can just multiply the ratio by 4/1.6 to find out \[1.6*(4/1.6) : 1* (4/1.6)\] \[4 : (4/1.6)\] so you have 4/1.6 feet of width
