Hey guys I have two questions 1. What is the point of being able to kick people from my group? They just come right back... 2. Does my SmartScore increase more if I'm working in math over other subjects? Because I help in English/Writing/Literature stuff and Music but I don't answer Math questions as much and my level just doesn't budge.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

smartscore is what you can call "global" so it will increase wherever you are... the point of kicking is to remove them from a group...it's kinda like asking "what is the purpose of suspending they can just make a new account" does that answer that? :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The SmartScore thing helped, but kicking literally does absolutely nothing because 20 seconds later they're back, with the same account.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you have a good reason to kick them, then you can do it to "show" them that they are doing something wrong but if that bad behaviour repeats report them aswell and global mods will try to make sure that it won't happen again if you get ip ban u wont be able to create another account from at least same ip but of course you can overcome it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah, okay. I've only had to kick 2 people and one of them (surprisingly) actually asked if she could come back, but the other was just trolling. At least now I know, thank you! @Tomas.A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It wasn't me was it, im a good boy....usually

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

A kick is really just intended to be a wake up call. Of course, if the user doesn't listen to that wake up call, then we would need to get involved. Of course, if they are obviously trolling feel free to play a game of whack-a-mole until we show up. It's going to be more irritating for them than for you. Hehe. In regard to the SmartScore: after you get up into the 60's it gets harder to progress. That's just how it goes. People active in Math progress quicker because of the higher volume of questions. That's the only way they have an advantage.

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

@farmdawgnation , only if they don't know what they are doing.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

for the record...that was what i meant by my metaphor :D some users also happen to level-up all three of their paramterssimultaneously that's why they level up fast ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't understand. How can you kick someone from a group? And how is it "your" group?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

group moderators can kick people from groups. she is a group moderator of the Music group so she assumes property over it <--i mean that in the nicest way :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh haha how do you become a group moderator?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

considering as i am not purple anywhere...i do not know the secret :( but i did become one not so long ago hehe but that's a different story

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha :) I shall ask one of my purple friends :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

the only group moderators i am aware of as of now are dyiliq and rebeccaskell94 of course there could be some others

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i think I might know some others but I'm not sure :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

some time ago highest lvl user was group moderator, now probably they were set as group moderators by admins

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok then how do you become an ambassador?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you had to apply but person who was in charge of ambassador program finished their work as internship so I don't know if you still can

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

by being the sweetest person in os :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha XD

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

@Tomas.A @cshalvey has taken over the business heard it's gonna be back on the road soon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah it was said that all info was given to cshalvey but that's it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ha well we shall see.......

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I became a group mod because of passion and dedication in my group as a user. Two other mods asked me if I would like to be a group mod, and I lived happily ever after.

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

@mmoul18 As @Tomas.A mentioned, group mods were once auto-appointed based on the highest ranking user in a group. We did away with that system because some of our high level users got bored and caused a moderate amount of mayhem with their group moderator powers. heheh. Anyway, group mods are currently only being used in small groups that the Global Mods can't police as regularly. If you want to be a group mod, your best bet is to show that you have a high level of dedication to that group. And make friends with @cshalvey. :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

....im friends with @cshalvey teehee...[erfect >:))))) haha jkjk ^_^

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

perfect*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha nice happy ending becca :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks mmoul18 :D and I am friends with @cshalvey, but not bc he's a mod lols

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha that's funny :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

who's @cshalvey again? just kidding big guy :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol xD
