The perimeter of a parallelogram is 48 in. If the sides are cut in half, then the perimeter of the smaller parallelogram is 24

No, see. If the sides are 6 and 3, for example, then the perimeter = 12 + 6 = 18
Now, 3 and 1.5 : Perimeter = 9
