What is the similarity ratio of two cubes with volumes of 64 cubic centimeters and 125 cubic centimeters? Answer 1:5 2:3 4:5 16:25 I think it is C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know what is similarity ratio. If you tell me what it is, I might be of some help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The similarity ratio is the proportion that you get when you divide any corresponding side of one triangle by its corresponding side in other similar triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but in this case it is a cube

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good thing we're dealing with cubes lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK, so let us divide the side of the two cubes(we have no other option). In this case it is: cube root of 64 : cube root of 125 Which is 4:5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

agreed, I never really understood ratios cause i never really paid attention to them. But I think i understand them now. So the answer is C, correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right(at least that's what I think). You might want to confirm this with someone who knows this well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for your help anyways.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes if this is volume if you want the ratio of the lengths of sides then cube root to get answer 4:5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ty,
