x^2-10x+25-b^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x ^{2}-10x+25-b ^{2} \] i need to factor it and i forgot how, it ends with 3 term multiplied by 3 terms but i don't remember how.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rewrite it as (x-5)^2 - b^2. That's the difference of two squares. Rewrite it like that :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should end up with (x- 5 - b)(x - 5 + b)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=(10(+or-)sqrt(100-100+4b^2))/2 x=(10(+or-)2b)/2 x=5+b and x =5-b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which means @bmp is also correct
