Graph the quadratic functions y = -2x^2 and y = -2x^2 + 4 on a seperate piece of paper. Using those graphs, compare and contrast the shape and position of the graphs.

Well, I'd suggest drawing them. Subs, x=0 and y=0 into the equation to find the intercepts. You know that the curve will have a be a 'sad face'.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i compare them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain??????

OpenStudy (mertsj):

They are the exact same parabola except that the second one is moved up 4 units because of the +4 on the end of the equation.

thanks
