look at the numbers in front of x^2 and y^2, if they are the same, it is a circle

Thanks! :) Should have noticed that rather than trying to complete the square and getting frustrated.
OpenStudy (precal):
completing the square will reveal that it is a circle and give you the center of your circle and its radius.
