2 tB hard drives have been out for a while internal and usb external... and they're pretty cheap online... 

but back a few months ago with floods in Thailand, they were pretty had to come by and their prices skyrocketed...
Western Digital and I think Samsung get's their bulk hd from that country... not sure.
