um how did u figure it out?
By determining what x could NOT be and then saying it COULD be everything else.
ok so lets say for b) x cannot be -1 or any negative number right? and how do u figure out the range?
Well, is x is positive, what is the square root of x? Positive or negative?

And what about 5 times a positive number? Positive or negative?

There you go. Also you could use your graphing calculator and graph the function and see what the y values are by looking at the graph.
