Using complete sentences, explain how to graph y = 1/3 x + 4 using the slope-intercept method.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know where the y intercept is? Do you know what the slope is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i don't know neither .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When x is zero, you can find the y intercept. 1/3x is the slope. so everytime you go up 1 you go to the right 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah , but i just don't know how to explain what to do in words

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so you just need adding values to x and hence will get values for y - add two values for x and will get two values for y ,after this just make the diagramm with calculed points and will get the diagramm of this equation, function what need to be a line

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

hope so much that is understandably sure good luck bye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kit helped a lot ... thanks .

OpenStudy (precal):

y=mx+b form b is your y-intercept (0,4) m is your slope, it is a positive slope (line is going up) from your b value, move up 1 unit and right 3 units from your b value, move down 1 unit and left 3 units
