you have been asked to make cookies for school. you are told that there are approximately 3000 hungry studdents. if each student is to have 1 cookie, by how much will the cookie recipie need to be increased?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how many cookies will each student eat? how many cookies does the original recipe create?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says that each student would eat one and that the oringinal recipies makes 24 cookies ( 2 dozens)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you need 3000 cookies and your recipe makes 24...how many times will you need to make that recipe? hint #cookiesneeded/#cookiesmade

I get 125 times but now i need to convert the ingredients. Do I need to multiply by 125 to each ingredient?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For example: 1 1/2 cups of butter - softened. Do I need to multiply 125 * 1 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes and yes and maybe making the fraction improper will make the multiplying easier 125 * 3/2 = 375/2 ...or maybe not
