Help. Show working thanks, picture attached. I apologize in advanced as I will be off to do other homework but I will come back later for the solution. I need help for Question 8, 9d and 10.
Where exactly you are facing problem ??
we wouldnt mind waiting for you before explaining....
LOL :D
Lets say that the current worth of timber is $100 In one year, it will increase to $102 given by $100 * 1.02 in two years, it will increase to $104.04 $102 * 1.02 $102 = $100 * 1.02, so another way to write $104.04 is $100 * 1.02 * 1.02 If you can see the recursion here, the fucntion is \[F(x) = 100000*(1.02)^t\]
\[\lim_{t \rightarrow \infty}15 + 96/(t+3) = 15\] therefore the virus will never kill off all the koalas. At time = infinity there will be 15 kaolas.
I clearly stated I needed help for I need help for Question 8, 9d and 10. Well alex thanks for your help but I don't get ur answer for the koala question.
Let me Explain @alexandercpark 's answer for 9 d. Let's assume that virus remains for infinite time, so we get \[15+\frac{96}{\infty}=15+0=15\] So it can never become zero
So virus can never kill everybody :)
@JayDS , Hope you got that :)
but how does 96 over infinite equal 0? and if the virus were to last for an infinite time then wouldn't it it kill everybody in this case all the koalas will be killed?
This is math , not biology :P According to the given equation, it is not possible. Secondly, anything divided by a very very very very large number (infinity) is zero
