I've suggested this before, but I don't think the mods ever saw it and it got buried among heaps of questions. My suggestion is that notifications should be arranged subject or group wise for easier viewing. I remember that loooong back(around June or July 2011) when I first joined, we had notifications arranged in this manner.

if you click "show all notifications" it has it in groups of like medals, fans, mentions and replies. But groups would be helpful too. :)

Ya that's right, but still don't you think it would be better if we had it arranged subject wise? And when we had it arranged like that last year, all the notifications related to fans came under global notifications.

This is something that has been annoying me as well. We removed it when we added user created groups, because there were so many subjects. We're thinking about categories and subjects but it's super hush-hush. This notification thing is something I will make sure we don't miss.

You have a point, I didn't think of how tough it would be to arrange all notifications with all those subjects!!
