The bottom shape is a square prism with base edges of 4 inches and a height of 12 inches. What is the volume of this composite figure if the top shape is a right pyramid with a height of 3 inches? 208 in3 16 in3 144 in3 192 in3

Well the first thing would be too find the volume of the rectangle prism, which the formula is V = bwh or V = Bh ---- the small b is the base while the big B is the area of the base. so we plot the information V = (4)(4)(12) V = 192 So the volume of the rectangle prism is 192, now we have to find the right pyramid. the formula for the right pyramid is V = 1/3Bh; so once again we plot our information. B = (4)(4) = 16 V = 1/3(16)(3) V = 1/3(48) V = 16 Now we add the two volumes to find the volume for the entire figure; V = 192 + 16 V = 208 Plus we add the in sign since it is in inches, and the cube since it is volume; the answer would be 208 in^3
