In a good paragraph, where you show in your own writing what you know about sentence fluency, tell which sample you ranked the highest and explain what qualities you saw in it.

My Passion

I am passionate about my dancing. I have studied ballet since I was six years old, and I continue to love this pursuit. Although it is grueling work to prepare the body and the mind for a performance, I experience a delicious euphoria when I am on stage. When exhausted after a day's rigorous practice, I often wonder whether the end result is worth the physical discipline, self-denial and mental focus. Then, I imagine myself on stage again, at the height of fitness and alertness, ready for that opening curtain. This is when I know that, yes, it is all worth it!

My Passion

I love to dance. I love the stage and the lights. I love the audience and the excitement of the performance. I don't always love the preparation it takes to get me onto that stage. The physical work is grueling. The mental discipline is hard. I can't always eat everything other teens eat. I sometimes wonder if it's all worth it. When I'm ready to perform, though, I guess it is.

My Passion

Dance is my life. It is my heart and soul. I am passionate about dance. On stage, I feel groundless, as if I have no limits, no earthly weight. The spirit of freedom which sinks into my every cell sets my body free. When I dance, everything is possible! When I dance, there is magic and light! When I dance, the euphoria of the moment erases the memory of all the painful physical conditioning and self-denial. To dance, for me, is to live!

I ranked paragraph three the highest because of the amazing fluency and the descriptive way of the writing. In the paragraph, the speaker shows a lot of passion and emotion about dancing. She talks about how dancing is her life and describes why she loves it so much, calling it "the spirit of freedom" and saying how it "erases the memory of all the painful physical conditioning and self-denial". The speaker is saying that dancing to her, makes her feel free and happy, erasing any pain that she may have emotionally or physically, allowing her to be filled and surrounded with "magic and light". This paragraph definitely has fluency because of the descriptive way she talks about her dancing, really giving you a picture in your "mind's eye" of what she is thinking and feeling.

Nope, 9th also. :) I just have never done any of these assignments before. I guess it's just because of the different homeschooling online programs.
